Hi all, i'm new here and i hope to meet a few of you in the near future but before that i would like good advice in relation to this topic. OK i'm a man and i'm trimmed yet some areas need to be shaved. I, like some of you, find that after shaving i get a rash which lasts between 3 and 7 days, then 7 days after that I need to shave again, it's almost a pointless excercise. Now are there any benifits to waxing the same area, some products say the effects last for 4 weeks and if the hair roots are removed does this prevent the rash, also which products are best and can i use those products that are aimed at the female market to the same effect. heres hoping.

Hi There

The bonus with regular waxing is that over time the regrowth becomes less however and being very honest here there is an ouch factor involved. Cream hair removers are good you just do need to be careful when applying them you follow any instructions for the brand and always patch test a less "intimate" area before going full throttle to check for any allergic reactions. But with the shaving rash thing I find the following tips help always use a new blade, dont use perfumed foam/gel and I find a side to side motion (instead of up and down) helps and also finally if you do get a rash hot water and tea tree oil to clean it.

Hope this helps

Good advice Lady T. The only thing I would add is that any type of rash, whether it be caused by shaving, waxing or using depilatory creams, appears because there are ingrown hairs under the skin. There are a number of products on the market to help with this, and a Google search will identify them. They're usually creams that you rub in (which can be a very pleasant experience in itself!!!), they tend to exfoliate the area and allow the hairs to grow out of rather than under the skin. I've been using this method for years and have no problems at all.

oh i have to get in on this conversation. im a regular hairstylist in this department or rather no hair stylist i should say. well personally i love the feeling i get whilst i shave, it gets me so horny. personally i shave my balls and surrounding area alwys using a fresh razor blade (gillette mac 3 works for me). i use zeet sensitive (formally known as immac) around my bum area but dont leave it on for more than about 7 minutes and then the scraper to take it off (not so horny thinking of that part but a smooth bottom can only add to the style - ha ha). then i use a trimmer on grade 1 on the area above to add that finishing touch. please mate dont give up on your styling the ladies love it. ask any girl if they'd rather suck on a pair of nice smooth balls or the alternative hairy pair (whoops getting horny again). right er, must leave now have something to do in the bathroom (only joking). oh and dont forget to moisturise. good luck number 44

Well so far the advice has been exceptionally good so lets try you with something else.
Would an electronic razor, "with a foil" prevent the problem of a rash occuring in the first place since i would simply be getting a -hair cut!- and then not acting on the surface of the skin.

You can still get a rash with an electric trimmer too.....I know have been there....I do however find that the so called lady stylers are ok but you still end up with a light "fuzz" the thing to remeber with the electrical appliances is make sure you do clean then properly because you can end up with skin infections from the foil....

Hope to catch you soon
