Hi,

We are starting the process of upgrading these forums.

As the existing supplier has all but abandoned this software - we have decided to move to a new forum software supplier.

We should be able to complete the transfer without too many issues - however we will not be able to transfer over PM's - this is due to the new method of allowing private topics with the new software.

Therefore you are advised to print off any PM's that you wish to keep - as these may not be viewable after we convert.

I do not yet have a date for conversion - I will probably wait until the next version is released, which is due in November.

As soon as I have a beta test site up and running, I will share the URL, and let you have a play.....

Above all, there will be many new features to take us sailing into 2006....

Please feel free to register there, and post away in any forum, about any subject....

All comments welcome - along with any issues that you may have faced - I would rather iron out issues now than in 2 months time....

(You will need to verify that you are over 18 when you register - this is for everyones benefit)

Okay - I havn't been able to do too much with the beta site yet - but wondered if anyone has any views?

More features will be added to the software - and if you have any wishes, please let me know....

You can edit your profile fom what is currently known as 'My Fusion' - I might alter this name. Also a big plus is that you can have Private Topics (PT's) with others - clicking on reply will start a thread - up to 5 people can be invited into these PT's.

Fancy a games arcade? Well I might just add one ;)

hehe - I've just purchased the arcade, so might install it in the beta forum.

I have decided to wait until the next revision of the software is out - this is due to go to the beta team in the next week or so, with it going gold a couple of weeks after that. This gives us an upgrade date of late November / early December. Just in time for Christmas :D

Many items will be similar on the new site (except that you will be able to upload avatars! :p ) - but there will be some new features as well. Some of the features may be reserved for full members of ScorpioNet - others will be made available to all....

I am also hoping that we will be able to copy over PM's - I will not know for definate for a couple of weeks.

Feel free to login and have a play.... And I will update everyone closer to the time...

You have to register anew, not use your current password. It's a completely different system at the moment.

Hello Chris & Jerry. Can't believe I have to remember 2 passwords now. I'm having trouble remembering my correct bus stop. I'd take that memory helping herb if I could remember what it is.

We may well be upgrading sooner rather than later - therefore if you need any PM's I would recommend printing them off now. I can't guarantee that they will get imported. :(

Likewise we will probably loose all avatars - however you will easily be able to add them back.

If you do not have your avatar - then right click 'save picture as...' and save it to your hard disk. Better safe than sorry.

No problemo - we just do not want anyone to loose critical info such as contact details that you may have had via PM.
