Sorry to disturb your mad rush to get all those final Christmas presents - but we are planning a major upgrade to the forums at http://forums.scorpionet.biz

The biggest reason for this upgrade is that the software authors are no longer providing updates to the software that we use - and, whilst they have announced a new product, it has been in the planning for a couple of years with no sight of an upgrade in the near future. :(

Therefore we are jumping ship to a new software product - yes it will be different - but the biggest difference will be in new features both at the cut-over and in the months ahead.

We have completed the first stage of our beta testing, and are about to embark upon testing the transfer stage. If this all goes well, we could go live very soon.

But, before we do, we ought to let you know how this might affect you.

Firstly, all logins will be converted over, as will all posts in the forums. However we do not think that we can convert over PM's and Avatars (there is a new system for PM's that will allow you to have full blown conversations with another member and avatars haven't worked properly for a while). We strongly recommend printing off any PM's that you might need, as we cannot guarantee access to them once we have moved software - likewise, if you do not have a copy of your avatar then we recommend you save a copy to your hard disk. (right click on the image, and select 'save picture as...')

There may be a few other minor issues, but the positives will outweigh any negatives.

New features that we will be introducing include a Games Arcade, where you can challenge other members or rack up those points to become champion.

We will share other new features with you in due course - but in the meantime please login to the existing forums at http://forums.scorpionet.biz and make sure that you do not lose any critical information. We will save what we can, but better to be safe than sorry. If you have forgotten your password, please enter your login (username) OR email address in the second half of the login page, and we will email you a temporary password and your username to enable you to login. You can then change your password in your control panel under 'My Home'.
