I was yakking with some old school friends today at a funeral and it was really strange but we somehow would up basically reliving our past and recollecting things we said, did and owned that are sooooo embaressing to admit now so I thought I'd fess up to my somewhat ebaressing 1st record purchase and my first crush
The first single I bought (yes single as in record not CD) was
Kylie Minogue - Put Your hand on your heart
Me and my friends used to practice the dance rountine at brownies and when I reminded them all of this today I got groans and scarlet faces
And my first mega crush was Donnie Whalberg from New Kids On The Block
I saw them at the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party and got his autograph which I still have...
But still better that than Jason Donovan who they all used to fancy I thought he looked like a girl
So come on time to fess up what your most shameful tastes are and stop me feeling so embaressed
Snogs and Stuff

Ok! here goes!
The first single I bought was Vienna, Ultravox. The first album was Essential by Jean Michel Jarre. Was a big fan as a teenager. Yes strange I know. The album was a cassette but the single was on vinyl. CD weren't even around then! and before anyone says anything the single was a 45 not a 78! I'm not THAT old. ;)
First first crush was with Latisha Dean (Sharon, Eastenders, mid eighties).

Oooh I've been buying records since before I could read.
First time I actually realised you could *ask* for a single by name was Video Killed The Radio Star by the Buggles. However I must admit to enjoying listening to Donny Osmond singing "Love Me For A Reason" (cringes)
Most embarassing record in my collection is probably the White Feathers album by Kajagoogoo.
First album I bought would be a toss up between Andrew Lloyd Webber's Variations and Jeff Wayne's Musical War Of The Wrolds...both of which I still have. Though its a cop out as I asked my dad to go get them for me.
First crush....probably Supreme Commander Servalan in Blakes 7! So dominant and so well dressed! What chance did a 7 year old have?

Well, I cant remember what the first record was I got thin it was Bros or something equally as naff - like MM I also was a fan of New Kids on the Block although my fixation was on Danny - ewwwwwwwwww he was so unpleasant but my reasoning was, him being the least attractive in the group Id stand better chances of having him (yes the warped mind of a 12 yr old)LOL
I am a huuuuuuuuuuuugeee Barbra Streisand and Neil Diamond fan now which is often the subject of ridicule from my mates!!!!
Hey ho - each to their own

Well today my tastes are somewhat eclectic.
My MP3 player currently contains selections from Vivaldi, Mendelsohn, Yusef Lateef, Brian Wilson, King Crimson, Spock's Beard and The Beatles.

First single I ever bought was "Arnold Layne" by Pink Floyd, backed with "Candy and the Currant Bun". First album was "Rubber Soul" by The Beatles. Both classics.
I was a flower child (a very young one I might add!!) :p

Oh dear... do I really have to...??
OK - first single .... actually, I bought 2 on the same day...Telstar, and the follow-up single Globetrotter, both by The Tornados. The occasion was my 7th birthday back in the early 60s.....
First crush...? Would you believe that I never really had one? Very little chance of that with my parents, who threw a conniption fit if I even mentioned that I thought that the Beatles were pretty good....!

Oh yes, first crush was most definitely Paul McCartney - still haven't quite got over that. As Ms Mischief will tell you, we went to a concert a couple or so years ago and I was up there screaming "Paul!!!" with the best of them. This is the beauty of getting older, you just really don't care what anyone else thinks of you if you act daft!!! (Or is that just a sign of senility setting in?) Whatever, I don't care!

Arnold Layne....had a strange hobby!
I've got a 45 of Telstar somewhere Diosma!
Sometimes I wish I were 15 or so years older....then I realise that had I been around in the late 60's and old enough to appreciate them...I'd probably have fried my brain on some substance or other...
I still kick myself that I didn't get into Pink Floyd until *after* I lost contact with the offspring of Rick Wright...(bangs head 'gainst Wall)

Thinking of Paul McCartney, the 45 of his recent single "Jenny Wren" is a particularly pleasing cherry colour.
